Australian Conservation Foundation CEO Adam Bandt said:

“It’s time for the South Australian government to get serious about climate action and say no to Santos’ sponsorship dollars. Gas is as dirty as coal. It’s fuelling climate collapse and putting events like the Tour Down Under at risk. The more coal, oil and gas gets burned, the worse heatwaves and bushfires become, presenting serious health risks for cyclists and spectators. The SA government should not allow a polluting gas corporation to sponsor a public sporting event.”
